Cemetery meeting
The Polish Catholic Cemetery Association will hold its annual yearly meeting at 2 p.m. on Monday, June 10, at St. Mary Star of the Sea Church, 325 East Third St., Duluth, in the social hall. Refreshments will be served following the meeting. All individuals who have purchased burial plots or have loved ones buried at the cemetery are encouraged to attend. Rhubarb festival
Our Lady of the Lakes will be hosting Rhubarb Fest 2024 in conjunction with Pine River Summerfest and the Cass County Fair on Saturday, June 29, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the church yard at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 203 Second St. N., Pine River. Fresh rhubarb pies, slushies, pie-by-the-slice, rhubarb leaf bird baths, and stepping stones will be available for purchase, as well as hand-made quilts made by the CCW. Pulled pork luncheon on site. Crafters, vendors and bake sale, and a bucket drawing with many nice items. Also, the largest rhubarb leaf contest returns, with the winner receiving a pie. The annual CHUM Rhubarb Festival will be held Saturday, June 29, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Holy Rosary Campus of Stella Maris Academy, 2802 E. Fourth St., Duluth. Visio Divina
The Center for Spirituality and Enrichment at St. Scholastica Monastery will host an evening of contemplative prayer through the use of images, music, and sacred writings via Zoom on Thursday, July 25, at 7 p.m. No prior experience is needed. Grateful Gatherings
The Center for Spirituality and Enrichment at St. Scholastica Monastery is launching a new initiative called Grateful Gatherings. Grateful Gatherings take place every month both online and in homes and communities around the globe. Informed by spiritual wisdom, scholarship, and scientific research, the gatherings provide community connection, invigorating reflection and conversation, and practical tools for living a meaningful and flourishing life. Gatherings are hosted monthly by trained facilitators, utilize robust materials designed by Grateful Living, and are open to anyone seeking inspiration, resources, and fellowship for living life with purpose and joy. There are two options for registering: one group will be in-person at St. Scholastica Monastery, and the other will be held via Zoom. The first sessions are Wednesday, June 12, from 10 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. at St. Scholastica Monastery or Thursday, June 13 from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. via Zoom. Rosary for life
The Rosary Society and the Catholic Medical Association, along with the Pastoral Council Parish Life Group, will be leading a rosary for life before the Sunday, 9:15 a.m. St. Mary Star of the Sea Mass and the Sunday, 10:30 a.m. Cathedral Mass. They will begin the rosary at 8:45 a.m. at St. Mary Star of the Sea, 325 E. Third St., Duluth, and at 10 a.m. at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Rosary, 2801 E. Fourth St., Duluth. This will help bring healing, hope, and joy to the mission field, found through the intercession of Mary and to enter the mysteries of Jesus through the rosary. The Catholic Church teaches that all human life is sacred and that everyone has a right to life, which should be protected and valued at all stages of life, from conception to natural death. Once the weather warms up, they will move the rosaries to the Mary prayer gardens at each church.
Expanding Horizons
Expanding Horizons is a five-hour immersion experience that gives community members the opportunity to learn about poverty, hunger, and homelessness in Duluth by visiting organizations that work with people experiencing these realities every day. Groups learn about the impacts of poverty, hunger, and homelessness on Duluthians and see first-hand some of the available resources. St. Vincent de Paul Society
The St. Vincent de Paul Society meets at 6 p.m. on the first and third Thursday of the month at Cathedral of Our Lady of the Rosary, 2801 E. Fourth St., Duluth, in the multipurpose room. A third order Carmelite community meets monthly at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 315 S.W. 21st St., Grand Rapids. Meetings are held the first Saturday of each month. Rosary at 8:30 a.m., followed by Mass at 9 a.m., and morning prayer. Adoration and Divine Mercy Chaplet
Every Friday, immediately after the noon Mass at St. Mary Star of the Sea, 325 E. Third St., Duluth, there is exposition of the Blessed Sacrament with adoration until 3 p.m. At 3 p.m. the Chaplet of Divine Mercy is recited, followed by Benediction.

Proclaimers of Christ Catholic charismatic prayer group meets the second Thursday of the month at St. Agnes Church, Elm at Division Street, Walker. Father Solanus Casey Fraternity
The Father Solanus Casey Fraternity of the Secular Franciscan Order meets the third Sunday of each month at 12:30 p.m. at Holy Family Church, 2430 W. Third St., Duluth. Public square rosary
Our Lady of Fatima, Garrison, and Holy Family, Bulldog Lake, hold a public square rosary the fourth Tuesday of each month at 1 p.m. near the big walleye fish at the lookout on Mille Lacs Lake in Garrison (Highway 169). All are invited to join in prayer. The rosary is prayed for the intentions of our Blessed Mother, the conversion of sinners, and to reconcile ourselves, our families, and our nation back to God.
