The Mission Co-op Program of the Diocese of Duluth is part of the Pontifical Mission Societies and is one way the Church in northeastern Minnesota ministers to the poorest of the poor in Catholic dioceses around the world. Each year between April and September, parishes across the diocese host missionaries from other countries who share how they spread the Gospel in their part of the world and what assistance they need. A collection is taken, and the funds from these collections are pooled together and divided equally among the missions participating in the Mission Co-op Program across the whole diocese. Please prayerfully consider supporting these missions generously.
The Pontifical Mission Societies trace their work to Blessed Pauline Marie Jaricot, a 19th century French woman whose brother was a missionary. She and others started gathering together to pray and gather funds to send to the missionaries. Eventually it grew to become the Society of the Propagation of the Faith, which is the oldest of four Pontifical Mission Societies.
