Mass on TV
The Diocese of Duluth sponsors a televised Mass at 9:30 a.m. every Sunday from the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, D.C., on WDIO-Duluth and WIRT-Hibbing. Blessing of the pets
St. Mary Star of the Sea, 325 E. Third St., Duluth, will be having a blessing of the pets, Sunday, Oct. 8, at 1 p.m. in the church parking lot in honor of St. Francis. Grief group
The Cathedral of Our Lady of the Rosary, 2801 E. Fourth St., Duluth, will be offering a five-week educational/support grief group for any adult who has experienced the death of a loved one. The group will meet for five consecutive Tuesdays, from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m., beginning Oct. 3, and continuing Oct. 10, Oct. 17, Oct. 24, and Oct. 31. Fall festival
Blessed Sacrament Church, 2310 Seventh Ave. E., Hibbing, is holding its fall festival Saturday, Oct. 7, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Join them for delicious homemade bakery and deli items like antipasto and Sarma balls, beautiful handmade crafts, bountiful raffle items, kids’ games, cookies and candy by the pound, and more. Fall festival
Queen of Peace Church, 102 Fourth St., Cloquet, will be hosting its fall festival Oct. 14-15. On Saturday, Oct. 14, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., there will be a kids’ zone with inflatables, cash, and small items raffle, lunch in the cafeteria, food trucks, and a marketplace. Public square rosary rally
A public square rosary rally, sponsored by America Needs Fatima, will take place in Duluth on Saturday, Oct. 14, at noon at the southwest corner of Sixth Avenue East and Fourth Street. This event will be one of over 20,000 rallies that will take place across the United States on this same day. Please join in the hour-long prayer rally to offer reparation for the sins and offenses committed against the Immaculate Heart of Mary and to fervently pray for the conversion of the United States. Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 227 Third St., Two Harbors, will hold its fall bazaar Saturday, Oct. 14, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event will feature local vendors, crafts, pasties, and a bake sale. Fall gala
Join Star of the North Maternity home at its first annual fall gala on Saturday, Oct. 14, at Open Door Church in Hibbing. Slap Happy Comedy will be putting on a family-friendly comedy show with a catered dinner and silent auction benefiting Star of the North Maternity Home. Doors will open at 5 p.m., with the event starting at 5:30 p.m. Tickets are available at both Baron’s Pharmacy locations in Hibbing and at Casey Drug in Chisholm for $40 per ticket.
Chicken dinner and bake sale
St. Rose Church, 2 Sixth Ave., Proctor, will hold a chicken dinner and bake sale on Sunday, Oct. 15, from 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. The menu includes a choice of white or dark meat chicken, mashed potatoes with gravy, green beans, coleslaw, rolls, cranberry sauce, and banana cream pie for dessert. Anniversary Mass and dinner
Couples celebrating marriage year milestones of 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 45, 50, and 55 or more are invited to the ninth annual Anniversary Mass and Dinner Saturday, Oct. 21. Mass will be at 5 p.m. with Bishop Daniel Felton at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Rosary, with dinner to follow at Stella Maris — Holy Rosary Campus, 2802 E. Fourth St., Duluth. All are welcome at Mass, but space for dinner is limited to the first 50 couples who reserve a space. The dinner will be free for the celebrating couples. White Mass
The White Mass, celebrated by Bishop Daniel Felton, will be held Sunday, Oct. 22, at the 10:30 a.m. Mass at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Rosary, 2801 E. Fourth St., Duluth. All healthcare professionals are invited to attend Mass and receive a special blessing. A reception and talk hosted by the St. Raphael’s Guild of the Catholic Medical Association follows at Stella Maris Academy - Holy Rosary Campus, 2802 E. Visio Divina
The Center for Spirituality and Enrichment at St. Scholastica Monastery will host an evening of contemplative prayer through the use of images, music, and sacred writings via Zoom on Thursday, Oct. 26, at 7 p.m. No prior experience is needed. Artisan fair
All Saints Catholic Church, 16898 Carlson Lake Road, Baxter, will hold its third annual artisan fair on Saturday, Nov. 4, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. There will be beautiful, quality handmade items for the whole family, including sewing, seasonal and general crafts, kitchen and pantry items, and a large bake sale. All proceeds will be used to send the high school students of All Saints to Steubenville 2024. Also, visit the beautiful stained-glass windows obtained from St. Margaret Mary Church in Duluth, as well as the large collection of relics.
Craft show
The Cathedral of Our Lady of the Rosary will hold its annual holiday craft show Saturday, Nov. 4, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Stella Maris Academy - Holy Rosary Campus, 2802 E. Fourth St., Duluth. Shop for the holidays with more than 50 local arts and crafts vendors. A wide variety for every interest, such as hand-made accessories, children’s items, Christmas décor, and more. Retreat
The Center for Spirituality and Enrichment at St. Scholastica Monastery will hold “Reverencing Earth” Friday evening, Nov. 10 and all-day Saturday, Nov. 11, at St. Scholastica Monastery. This event celebrates the mysterious ways God’s gifts in the natural world influence our inner lives. Drawing on a newly published anthology of poems, essays, and art by editors Victor Klimoski and Kathy Fleming, the retreat guides participants in using the retreat guides participants in using word and image to describe what they experience on a walk in the forest or as they watch as the sun rise over a sleeping world or contemplate birds gathering at the backyard feeder. The Friday night event is free and open to everyone. The suggested offering for the Saturday retreat is $85 which includes lunch. Optional overnight accommodations for Friday night are available. Turkey bingo
Buhl Knights of Columbus Council 5612 will hold its annual turkey bingo on Saturday, Nov. 18, at 7 p.m. at the Buhl/Kinney Senior Center located at the corner of Frantz and Mercer in Buhl. Every Friday, immediately after the noon Mass at St. Mary Star of the Sea, 325 E. Third St., Duluth, there is exposition of the Blessed Sacrament with adoration until 3 p.m. At 3 p.m. the Chaplet of Divine Mercy is recited, followed by Benediction.

Public square rosary
Our Lady of Fatima, Garrison, and Holy Family, Bulldog Lake, hold a public square rosary the fourth Tuesday of each month at 1 p.m. near the big walleye fish at the lookout on Mille Lacs Lake in Garrison (Highway 169). All are invited to join in prayer. The rosary is prayed for the intentions of our Blessed Mother, the conversion of sinners, and to reconcile ourselves, our families, and our nation back to God.
