Deacon Mike Knuth, of the Duluth Diocese, has released a new book, “Stirring Into Flame: A Year With the Holy Spirit” (Three Hearts Publishing, 2024). The book unpacks the mystery of the most anonymous gift-giver of all time: the Holy Spirit. Through a mosaic of meditations, Deacon Knuth crafts a portrait of the Holy Spirit and provides 365 daily brief moments of meditation in the midst of our messy and often hectic lives. Each meditation includes reflection questions to help internalize the meditation and a short prayer to draw the meditation to become a part of one’s day.
He hopes it will be a tool for transformation for those desiring to grow in their spiritual life and those seeking to live a fuller life in the Spirit.
“I wrote this book to help people come to know who the Holy Spirit is, what he does, and to encounter his amazing love and care for us,” Deacon Knuth said. “It is our fear and ignorance of him that often cause our ignoring and avoiding him. I hope this book helps people to get past their fears and to encounter in the Holy Spirit, a great, dependable friend.”
“This book is a must read for both beginner and seasoned Holy Spirit seekers,” Duluth Bishop Daniel Felton said. “Personally, I have found the book very enriching and helpful.”
