Student center blessed

Faithful Citizenship presentations
Forming Consciences for Faithful Citizenship will be presented by Patrice Critchley-Menor, director of social apostolate for the Diocese of Duluth, in three locations around the diocese in October. Please join clergy and fellow parishioners to learn about our call to participate in public life. The presentation will be offered at Holy Family in Duluth on Oct. 3 at 7 p.m., St. Francis in Brainerd on Oct. 8 at 7 p.m., and St. Joseph in Chisholm on Oct. 15 at 7 p.m.
Mass of Remembrance for pregnancy and infant loss
Have you experienced the loss of a baby before or after birth? Would you like to commemorate and honor your child’s life in a beautiful and healing Mass? Whether your loss is recent or was years ago, you are warmly invited to attend an evening of prayer with a Mass of Remembrance for pregnancy and infant loss at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Rosary on Tuesday, Oct. 15. Grandparents, siblings, family members, and friends are welcome, as well as members of our faith community who would like to offer prayers of support for the sanctity of life. The evening will start with a rosary for life at 6 p.m., followed by Mass at 6:30 p.m. with a reception in the cathedral social hall after Mass. “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed” (Psalm 34:18).

Bishop Felton greets UMD students Submitted photoWith an Ask the Bishop sign handy, Bishop Daniel Felton joined FOCUS missionaries at the University of Minnesota Duluth Sept. 20 meeting students, having conversations, answering questions, and offering blessings, prayers, and blessed devotional items. The bishop had a variety of interactions with the students, some asking questions about the Catholic faith, some asking for prayers for particular intentions. After the student center encounters, the bishop, joined by Father Sekhar Dasari, celebrated Mass at the UMD Newman Center.
