As director of mission integration and formation, Sister Lisa will lead collaborative efforts with ministry leadership to ensure the awareness and legacy of the Benedictine Sisters of St. Scholastica Monastery. Her work will focus on the areas of Benedictine legacy and sponsorship, Catholic identity, and theological and spiritual formation. She will also work with each ministry — Benedictine, the College of St. Scholastica, the Catholic entities within Essentia Health, St. Francis Medical Center in Shakopee, and St. Mary’s Health in Cottonwood, Idaho — to further each organization’s identity as a ministry of the Catholic Church.
“For many years, I have thought our ministries would benefit from coordinated mission support as they continue to advance the mission and ministry of our founding community,” Sister Lisa said. “This is now a reality with the creation of Duluth Benedictine Ministries. I am honored to serve as the first director of mission integration and formation.”
Sister Lisa has extensive experience in mission integration having served for many years as director of mission integration at Benedictine. She has experience in campus ministry at the College of St. Scholastica, as well as parish ministry in Duluth, New Ulm, Tracy, and Walnut Grove. She is a trained and experienced educator having worked for more than ten years as an elementary school teacher and serves as a volunteer assistant football coach at the College of St. Scholastica.
Sister Lisa has a bachelor’s degree from Southwest Minnesota State University in Marshall, a master’s degree from St. John’s University School of Theology in Collegeville, and training at the Institute of Religious Formation at Catholic Theological Union in Chicago.
